Education

At the International Institute of Wisconsin, we provide a variety of educational programs designed to empower refugees and immigrants as they integrate into their new communities.

Our Classes include:

ELL (English) Classes:

In-person and select online English language learners’ classes to help individuals improve their language skills. Free for qualifying refugee students and available to non-refugee students for a small fee. In-person classes are offered from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, Monday to Thursday. Call (414) 225-6220 or email us at english@iiwisconsin.org to schedule an English placement exam, or for more information.

Citizenship Classes:

Coming in 2025, citizenship classes will prepare individuals for the U.S. citizenship test. Free for qualifying refugee students and available to non-refugee students for a small fee. Please note that an English placement exam is required for all students who are non-native speakers of English. IIW Childcare Center:

We are excited to welcome families to the new IIW Childcare Center. Services only available to ELL refugee students, from 9 AM to 1 PM, Monday to Friday. Enrollment is now open, and please click here to sign up.

Job Club :

A program focused on employment readiness, offering support in job searching, resume building, and interview preparation. IIW’s Job Club is held every Friday from 10 AM to 12:30 PM.

Interpretation Training:

Professional training available for those who wish to become interpreters, for a fee, with scholarships available. These programs are designed to help individuals build the skills and confidence needed to succeed in their new environment.
