About the Role:
This role offers hands-on experience supporting technology operations in a dynamic nonprofit environment. The IT Support Intern will work alongside experienced technology professionals to assist with user support, device deployment, system maintenance, and technology improvement initiatives while gaining practical experience in IT support, cybersecurity, systems administration, and technology operations.
Preferred Majors: Current undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduate, pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, email, printers, and system-related issues.
- Assist with the setup, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of computers, laptops, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
- Install, update, and troubleshoot software applications and operating systems.
- Diagnose and resolve basic hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
- Support user account administration, including password resets, permissions management, and onboarding/offboarding activities.
- Maintain IT asset inventories, equipment tracking records, and technical documentation.
- Assist with data backup procedures, file organization, and routine system maintenance activities.
- Support compliance with organizational IT policies, cybersecurity requirements, and technology best practices.

About the Role:
The Volunteer & Digital Engagement Intern will play a key role in supporting volunteer recruitment, coordination, and engagement while helping promote the International Institute of Wisconsin and Holiday Folk Fair International through social media and digital communications.
This internship offers hands-on experience in event management, volunteer leadership, nonprofit operations, community engagement, and digital marketing. Interns will work closely with staff and community leaders to support one of the nation’s longest-running multicultural festivals while developing professional skills in project coordination, communications, and public engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
Volunteer Recruitment & Coordination
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and communicating with volunteers for Holiday Folk Fair International.
- Help organize volunteer schedules, assignments, and event staffing plans.
- Support volunteer orientation sessions and training activities.
- Assist team leaders with volunteer coordination and event-day operations.
- Help maintain volunteer databases, records, and communication materials.

Social Media & Digital Engagement

- Capture photos, videos, and event highlights for digital storytelling.

- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda on immigration law topics
- Assist in preparing immigration applications and supporting documentation (e.g., adjustment of status, family-based petitions, naturalization)
- Organize and maintain client files and case tracking systems
- Draft client declarations and assist with document review and translation (if applicable)
- Participate in client intake and interviews under attorney or accredited representative supervision
- Attend and take notes at legal clinics and staff meetings
