Four Stars, One Stage: Discover the Artistry of Takarazuka

Founded in 1914, the Takarazuka Revue is Japan’s legendary all-female musical theater company. Originally created as a modern “girls’ opera” (shojo kageki), it developed as an all-female company at a time when women on stage represented a bold new form of entertainment. That tradition continues today, with women performing both male (otokoyaku) and female (musumeyaku) roles – one of the most distinctive features of Takarazuka.

Performers train through the prestigious Takarazuka Music School, a highly selective conservatory where students study singing, dance, acting, and the discipline embodied in Takarazuka’s well-known ideal; “Pure, Right, Beautiful”. This rigorous training has shaped generations of performers and helped make Takarazuka an enduring cultural institution.

Beyond its grand theater productions, Takarazuka is also known in Japan for its elegant dinner show tradition, where performers present music, storytelling, and intimate stage performances in a more personal setting. Beloved for decades, these dinner shows offer a special opportunity to experience the artistry of Takarazuka up close.

Inspired by this tradition, this special gala features a performance by four former stars of the Takarazuka Revue:

Mitsuki Haryu (Former otokoyaku performer, Flower Troupe) : Known for a powerful stage presence and strong vocals, Mitsuki Haryu performed as an otokoyaku in the Flower Troupe and also served as a host and reporter for TAKARAZUKA SKY STAGE.

Tamaki Amo (Founding Member of Cosmos Troupe, otokoyaku) : A founding member of the Cosmos Troupe, Tamaki Amo performed for 15 years in celebrated productions including Elisabeth and the Rose of Versailles. Today she continues creative work connecting performance, voice, and wellness.

Yui Marino (Former musumeyaku performer, Star Troupe) : Recognized for her exceptional vocal artistry, Yui Marino was known as one of Takarazuka’s distinguished singing performers and continues to share her artistry through music and coaching.

Erina Mariho (Former musumeyaku performer, Cosmos Troupes) : Celebrated for her vocal talent and elegant stage presence, Erina Mariho remains active in concerts and dinner shows, carrying forward the artistry of Takarazuka.
