POSITION: Matching Grant Program Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Director of Refugee Services
Compensation rate: $19.23 hr.
JOB SUMMARY: The Matching Grant (MG) Case Worker will work with the International Institute of Wisconsin’s Refugee Resettlement Team. This position is responsible to assist new refugee families in their transistion to economic self-sufficiency through employment.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and support the agency’s mission, vision, and core values.
- Maintain a working knowledge of and comply with all agency policies and procedures.
- Understand the goals, scope, and requirements of the Matching Grant (MG) program.
- Provide culturally competent, equitable client service with minimal supervision.
- Maintain client confidentiality.
- Provide MG Employment and Related Services that include but are not limited to the following:
- Network with local employers and coach them with best practices for employing clients.
- Lead job readiness classes with all employable case members.
- Identify and address barriers to employment.
- Match clients with appropriate employment opportunities.
- Usher clients through employer onboarding processes.
- Provide post-placement assistance to both employers and clients.
- Refer to English Language Learner (ELL) classes.
- Enroll Children in School and Childcare.
- Administer intensive case management services.
- Verify client eligibility and qualifications, and intake suitable cases to MG program.
- Conduct regular interactions and monitor the progress of all case members.
- Develop a self-sufficiency plan and discover the client’s specific goals and strengths.
- Enter client Intake in case management database(s).
- Record all client interactions with detailed case notes.
- Document clients’ self-sufficiency status.
- Coordinate volunteers to client needs.
- Manage MG financial requirements.
- Track and forecast direct client assistance funds.
- Monitor and document administrative expenses.
- Record and document in-kind and cash match expenses.
- Complete monthly financial reports in the MG database.
- Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date case files for all assigned cases in accordance with the agency’s compliance policies.
- Connect client(s) to community resources.
- Match Grant disbursements.
- Schedule and arrange transport clients to appointments.
- Provide interpretation as needed.
- Document all service activities in the required case management database(s).
- Conduct activities in accordance with responsibilities listed in relevant to the organization’s grants/contracts.
- Participate in all required trainings, webinars, and other educational activities related to the position.
- Attend department, program, and team meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ensure that refugees are being served in a linguistically and culturally appropriate manner and provide education and advocacy when necessary.
- Conduct job market analysis, facilitate presentations within the community, and review and maintain a database of available employers and positions to be matched with refugees.
- Maintain relevant reports and statistics related to client activities and program services.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Knowledge of/familiarity with/sensitivity to the cultural background of refugees and other immigrant populations served by the department.
- Commitment to the mission and values associated with the organization, including social justice and respect for others.
- Two years of related experience and/or job-related expertise.
- Bilingual in English and Swahili, Burmese, Somali, Rohingya, Ukrainian, Pashto, or Dari preferred.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Basic computer skills.
- Able to work a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends.
- Driver’s license and Insured Vehicle.
